Windows 3.0 Demo

This build was offered to customers of PC World magazine. It was meant to familiarize people with the new Program Manager interface, and a lot of programs are taken out of this build.

When it reaches the point where it needs to copy the HIMEM.SYS driver, it makes you swap back to Disk 1, and then back to Disk 2.

As you can see, this build is highly gimped. You only have the "Test Drive" program, which is the main focus of this build, the File Manager, a gimped control panel, and Solitaire.

Here's the "Test Drive" program that mainly acted as a way to introduce users to the new interface. We'll make a separate walkthrough of this program in the future.

For some reason, this build selects the "Arizona" theme as its default, even though the "Windows Default" theme is still there.

Only two fonts are listed.

You can set some of the assets for the "Test Drive" program as your desktop background. How amazingly confusing...

A lot of the control panel's features are inaccessible in this build. Onto the next one...

NOTE: This build is available in two separate sets of floppies. One of them runs in EGA mode, while the other runs in VGA mode. The VGA build is the one I showed here. The two builds are identical aside from the video driver. Also, I had to load a separate DOS mouse driver in order for the mouse to work in this build.
